Bach is essential to my understanding of music. To me, his cello suites are the ultimate single instrument collaboration. You can’t do it on your own. You have to invoke the willingness of another ear to complete the circle. In that sense, playing the complete J.S. Bach suites is in some ways a spiritual journey for me.
